Experience the beauty and wonders of the Pacific Northwest on this 7 day tour of Northwest Oregon. Explore the iconic landscapes of the Columbia River Gorge, Mt St Helens, Mt Hood, Astoria, Canon Beach, and the Willamette Valley. Wildlife watching, farm to table restaurants, hiking through old growth forests and along the Oregon coast, and a great small group will make this adventure one to remember!

DAY 1:
Arrive in Portland, Oregon. Transfer to your hotel for the evening. Airport Shuttle Service is included.  Enjoy the afternoon exploring downtown Portland. The downtown Waterfront Park is an enjoyable section of town to stroll along and explore the Oregon Maritime Museum or the Stark Ferry Historical Marker. The Pearl district is a revitalized area and packed with boutique shops and restaurants, a perfect place for lunch. Also make sure you stop at Powell’s City of Books, one of the largest bookstores in the US.  At 5:00 PM, we will travel from our hotel south to enjoy a fantastic farm to table experience at The Kitchen at Middleground Farms for our welcome dinner.  Embassy Suites Portland Downtown (D)

DAY 2:
This morning, you will get to enjoy some of Portland’s many sights such as the Portland Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, and a hike in the Hoyt Arboretum. In the afternoon you will explore the Pittock Bird Sanctuary and learn about the local native plants and animals that inhabit the area of Forest Park.  Also spot some of the unique species found inside the sanctuary.  Late in the afternoon, you will travel back to your hotel, where you will be free to explore and enjoy downtown Portland. There are many micro-breweries and fantastic farm to table restaurants to enjoy in the area! Embassy Suites Portland Downtown (B, L)

DAY 3:
After breakfast, you will head for the Columbia River Gorge. Enjoy the breathtaking views and photo ops of this protected National Scenic Area. Along the way you will see Vista Point, an interpretive center and the most photographed icon of the Columbia River Gorge. You will also stop at Multnomah Falls, the second-tallest year-round waterfall in the nation. The water drops 620 feet from its origin on Larch Mountain. Lunch will be at Multnomah Falls Lodge overlooking the Columbia River. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to explore the Mt Hood Scenic Byway.  You will hike to Tamanawas Falls, Lower Zigzag Falls, and Mirror Lake along with scenic views of the area and the mountain.  Enjoy one more evening in Portland before setting out for the rest of your adventure. DAY 4:
This morning, you will travel north from Portland to Mt St Helens National Volcanic Monument and explore this historic mountain. You will learn about the unique and ever-changing landscape of the Cascade Range and the effects of these volcanos on the local areas. Visit the Johnston Ridge Observatory and hike along Johnston Ridge overlooking Mt St Helens.  Afterwards, travel along the Columbia River to Astoria, Oregon and enjoy learning about the history of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and enjoy the views of the Columbia River as it enters into the Pacific Ocean. Visit the Astoria Column, the Columbia River Maritime Museum, and enjoy the late afternoon exploring Fort Stevens State Par and the Wreck of the Peter Iredale.  The evening will be yours to explore the historic waterfront of Astoria. DAY 5:
This morning you will visit Lewis and Clark National Historical Park and see a replica stockade of the fort that the Corps of Discovery used during their stay in the area before returning to the east. You will also learn more about this historic expedition. Afterwards, you will travel along the Oregon Coast to Ecola State Park and hike in the area, exploring Indian Beach, Submarine Rock, and hike out to Bird Point to view the historic Tillamook Rock Light.  The evening will be yours to enjoy Cannon Beach and explore this iconic location.  Walk along the beach in the evening, visit Bird Rocks, Haystack Rock, or explore the town and see the Icefire Glassworks or the historic candy shop! DAY 6:
After a morning enjoying Cannon Beach and the surrounding area, you will travel south along the Oregon Coast to Tillamook and the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory with its easy self-guided tour of the cheese making process. The Tillamook Cheese Factory also makes some of the best ice cream around – and well worth trying!

Afterwards you will explore Cape Meares Lighthouse and Wildlife Refuge and enjoy a hike through an old growth forest at Cape Lookout.  This offers a great hike out to fantastic and unobstructed views of the area both to the north and to the south for miles and miles.  Once finished, you will begin your journey back to Portland. You will spend the night in the beautiful town of McMinniville, OR. The farewell Dinner will be at The Barberry Restaurant. Spend and enjoyable evening enjoying the town. DAY 7:

You will return to Portland this morning and will be dropped off at the airport for your flight home.  We hope you enjoyed your adventure.
